Race in the Workplace; Resources to action change

Business in the Community is delighted to have been able to action another of the Race in the Workplace recommendations, the development of an online hub of best practice recommendations that enable employers to take effective positive action.  Continuing with the themes of Leadership, Progression and Recruitment the best practice portal brings together resources, case studies, statistics and facts to guide and support organisations in their commitment to race equality and inclusion in UK workplaces.

The McGregor-Smith Review into Race in the Workplace found that if Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) talent is fully utilised, the economy could receive a £24bn boost each year. Every person, regardless of their ethnicity or background, should be able to fulfil their potential at work.  The Review set out a Road Map for Success for employers and government including 26 recommendations.  These recommendations included the publication the Best Employers for Race list, published today and a pocket guide "Lets Talk About Race" authored by Business in the Community Race Equality Director, Sandra Kerr OBE
