70% of employees from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds in the UK said that progression was important to them and 52% said that they believed that they would have to leave their current employer to progress.
The Race at Work Charter principle five is supporting the progression of ethnic minority talent in the workplace. We have updated our Inclusive Succession Planning toolkit to support employers with that principle. The criteria, skills and abilities which are an absolute requirement to be considered as a candidate for a high potential talent pool in an organisation should be clear, transparent and accessible.
This toolkit provides employers with some additional insight from the Race at Work survey and recommends a range of actions employers can take to increase the diversity in their talent pipelines.
