The Best 100 Employers for Race 2017

Entry closes 5pm Friday 30th June 

We have extended the deadline to give as many companies as possible the chance to be recognised in the Best Employers for Race listing, particularly public sector organisations whose participation will have been impacted by the general election period.
Please note that this extension applies to entry for the Best 100 Employers for Race listing only, and not the Race Equality Awards themselves (due to judging panel timings). Employers still wishing to be considered for entry the UK’s first Best 100 Employers for Race listing have until 30 June to submit an entry.

''We are delighted to support the government's review into Race in the Workplace and pilot this listing of the best 100 employers for race in the UK  This listing will identify the best 100 employers in the UK for race diversity and equality. Participation in the list is one of the recommendations made by Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith in her Race in the Workplace report, a call to all UK employers as a means of encouraging faster movement towards truly inclusive workplaces where race diversity is ‘business as usual’, and opportunities for recruitment and progression can be equally accessed by ethnic minorities. Fundamental change is the only way to create lasting impact and remove persistent barriers to ethnic minority recruitment and progression. The Best 100 Employers for Race list will acknowledge those employers that are taking a comprehensive and strategic approach to tackling racial inequalities in their organisations.

 

How to enter
Free to enter, with no hidden costs,  the Best 100 Employers for Race list is open to all employers, irrespective of size of sector. 

There is a single combined entry process for both The Best 100 Employers for Race and the Business in the Community Race Equality Awards 2017.  Entry into the Best 100 consists of 31 questions and a case study, with a quick and easy entry process. 


Three step participation:

  1. Request your password for the entry portal from Pamela Cooney Events Project Manager

     You will receive a quick response
     
  2. Download the information and guidance document.  This contains all the information you need to complete your submission. Further information is available on the entry portal.
     
  3. Complete the online entry form and submit. 

The entry process is open until 5pm Friday 30th June, and the successful 100 organisations will anounced in October 2017. 

* Only the 100 organisations identified as Best Employers for Race will be eligiable to be considered for a Business in the Community Race Equality Award.

Organisations notified under embargo whether they have achieved a place in the Best 100 list.

Best 100 Employers for Race 2017 list and Award winners announced.
