Xixi is a valuable and versatile member of the Youth Advisory Board. Chinese in origin and brought up in Wales, Xixi has experienced both the benefits of a multi-cultural background as well as some obstacles it brings. She is currently studying for a degree in Investment and Financial Risk Management and aspires for a competitive career in Investment Banking.
Her objective is to work with companies to make real job opportunities much more accessible for young people, especially for those who would not otherwise have the channels to fully explore this range of possibilities. In addition, she believes it is in everyone’s interest to drive continuous improvement to the wider workplace. This includes hearing and acting on the voices of those from under-represented communities.
There are no limits to what can be achieved, and along with the YAP and its partners, Xixi looks forward to making this much more evident for many more shapers of our future economy.

Thoughts on Work Placement

I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to intern at Northern Trust's Wealth Management department this summer. It was fantastic learning experience and I was lucky to meet with some incredibly talented and influential people in the finance industry.

My colleagues and managers were an  inspiration and have proven that integrity, hard work, resilience, and effective networking are key to success and at times you have be able to think outside the box.

The market is extremely competitive and my biggest advice to anybody looking for experience is to never overlook an opportunity and take the time to build professional relationships
